Customs - Executive Assistant at New Zealand Customs Service, Auckland Are you a multi-tasking superstar looking for your next EA challenge? Are organising and prioritising two of your key strengths?
We are looking for a proactive and high-performing individual to support one of our Group Managers as an Executive Assistant.
The New Zealand Customs Service | Te Mana Arai o Aotearoa protects and promotes New Zealand through world-class border management. Customs' main priorities are protecting New Zealand's borders and revenue while helping the legitimate movement of people, goods, and craft across the border.
This is a great opportunity for an individual with an interest in working in a challenging and diverse environment. Supporting our Group Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Border Operations group. From managing complex calendars and coordinating travel arrangements to providing administrative support, preparing important documents, and liaising with key stakeholders, no two days will be the same in this fast-paced and exciting role. You will also have the opportunity to take responsibility for a small range of internal projects involving both cross-Customs work as well as inter-agency activity.
The indicative salary range for this role is between $75,000 to $85,000 per annum.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to multitask, develop trusted relationships internally and externally, and have your finger on the pulse of all things Border Operations. You will have excellent attention to detail and a forward-thinking approach to planning, ensuring that you are one step ahead of the game.
We're looking for someone who is:
Driven and agile in the way you go about your work
Able to work collaboratively with the Group Manager and stakeholders within Border Operations and across other work groups
Experienced in providing high-level administrative support to senior managers, including diary, travel management, and function organisation
Able to manage competing demands with a level of ease
Able to act with a high degree of integrity, with proven ability to provide confidential and discreet administrative support
Calm under pressure and able to produce high-quality work
Skilled at both written and verbal communication
Understands financial systems and budgets well
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Willing to actively participate and coordinate team activities
Proactive and uses their initiative
Able to achieve a Confidential security clearance (please refer to Requirements to Apply)

To work for the New Zealand Customs Service, you must be able to meet the following requirements:
Be a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident
Residing in New Zealand at the time of application
Successful applicants are also required to pass a drug test and have a clear Police record.
For this role, you need to be able to obtain and retain Confidential security clearance. You will need to meet the following requirements:
(*) As a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident, you need to have resided continuously in New Zealand for the last 5 years and reside in NZ at the time of application;
OR
New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 5 years and resides in NZ at the time of application but may have been absent from New Zealand for periods of six or more months within the past five years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK, or the USA. You will be required to provide overseas police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand.
