An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Hastings based showroom for a full-time dynamic, outgoing, customer-focused person to join VJ Distributors to deliver a great customer service experience at all times.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, your role as Customer Service / Sales Support is crucial, being the initial contact for many of our customers over the phone and in person. You'll be supporting our customers with cleaning, hygiene & automotive products across the commercial, trade, and retail sectors by recommending suitable products based on our customers' needs and providing support to our sales team, whilst offering top-class customer service.
This is a varied and busy role where you will work across many aspects of the business, and you'll be challenged to plan, prioritise, and deliver in a professional manner. Looking after our customers is the most important aspect, and understanding their needs and finding solutions is critical to providing recommendations tailored for their requirements.
Along with your customer service or sales experience, key to success in this role is your excellent verbal and written communication skills, your ability to work well under pressure, and attention to detail.
The successful candidate would ideally have experience in customer service, although training will be provided. Neatness & attention to detail are prime requisites.
In this role some of your key responsibilities will include: Serving customers, identifying their needs, and generating sales (via counter, phone, email, website). Sorting customer pricing and account queries, returns, and credits. Developing in-store promotions and marketing/sales initiatives. Maintaining the showroom and stock displays to a high standard. Sales support, quotes, and product information. Ensuring Health & Safety protocols are adhered to at all times. Opening & Closing our showroom. Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
What we're looking for: Must be a good communicator & have a great attitude. Excellent customer service skills & a team player. Competent computer and literacy skills. A willingness to learn & adapt with the business. Physically fit & healthy as some lifting is required. Must be able to work in NZ.
