Adjacent to the gallery is the Len Lye Centre, dedicated to the works of pioneering kinetic artist and filmmaker Len Lye.

The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Cultural Experiences Team as Casual Customer Services Officers.
Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities: - To be active in the art environment helping visitors with information about the gallery, exhibitions, events, cinema, art and artists, as well as providing local and regional information - Assist in driving retail sales and activities at the Govett-Brewster Shop - Ensure that gallery reception and information services including systems meet visitor requirements - Clearly communicate information with a wide range of people and personalities - Ensure that gallery reception and information services including systems meet visitor requirements - Deliver exceptional customer service and hospitality at Govett- - Brewster events, including public programmes, fundraising, stakeholder and gallery events Nga tino pukenga me nga wheako - Essential skills and experience: - Prior customer service experience in a retail/gallery environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Proven ability to work with ticketing and booking systems - Knowledge of Te Reo Maori an advantage Ou matou rourou - What we offer At the New Plymouth District Council we aim to create and sustain a truly rewarding workplace environment for our staff including solid career pathways, learning and development opportunities as well as personal and professional development.
You can expect to start in this casual role with us between $27-$28 per hour.
