Te aheinga - The opportunity Puke Ariki Libraries are part of the Cultural Experiences group at NPDC, under the General Manager Te Tiriti Partnerships, which includes the Libraries, Museum and Govett Brewster and Len Lye Gallery.
Due to the retirement of the incumbent, we are looking for a Lead for the Puke Ariki Central Library who can contribute to the Library Leadership team, the strategic direction of library services and lead quality customer services across our libraries.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the new direction our libraries and the Cultural Experiences group will be taking over the next few years as we work collaboratively across our sector to deliver exceptional services to customers.
We are looking for a strong people leader, with a vision for and expertise in Library customer services in Public Libraries, the importance of literacies for the community and experience in managing current challenges.
Lead a large team of Librarians ensuring excellent internal communications, teamwork and a positive workplace culture Manage delivery of best practice library services and KPIs Provide an informed ambition for library services and contribute to library strategic direction and planning Lead the direction of services to adults, children and youth and all sectors of the community Be accountable for capital and operational budget management Ensure the team contribute to the development and delivery of appropriate programming and events across the libraries and collaborate with the Cultural Experiences Public Programs team Collaborate with colleagues across the Cultural Experience Group including the customer service teams in the Gallery and Museum Support the work of the Senior Te Ao Maori Librarian to ensure Matauranga Maori and Te Ao Maori concepts are applied across our Libraries Ensure Health, Safety and Wellbeing responsibilities are embedded in daily operations 5 plus years' experience leading a team in the Library and Information field, with a particular focus on customer services in Public Libraries Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Science or a relevant qualification Demonstrated experience leading a team and creating a positive team culture Experience, knowledge and expertise of services to adults, children and youth He aha ai a Taranaki?
