Ngai Tahu Tourism is one of the largest tourism operators in Aotearoa and we are currently seeking a Customer Service Team Leader to join our dedicated kiwi team at the National Kiwi Hatchery.
The National Kiwi Hatchery is the largest and most successful hatchery in NZ - having hatched over 2,500 kiwi chicks since 1995, with an average hatch success of 95%. We also play an important part in helping with kiwi research and are a centre of excellence for juvenile kiwi training and scientific data collation.
The National Kiwi Hatchery is open to manuhiri (visitors) allowing us to advocate kiwi conservation, which is the focus of this role.
We take great pride in warmly welcoming manuhiri to our experiences. Manaakitaka (hospitality) is one of the core values that drives the way we do business. As hosts, we care for our customers and our team as our own whanau.
A little bit about you We are seeking an individual who:
Has previous experience in a similar role leading a small teamHas a passion for conservation and conversation!Min 2 years+ experience within a busy tourism operation in NZEnjoys participating and collaborating with other team membersKeeps cool under pressure and is able to respond to a rapidly changing environmentHas the ability and willingness to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidaysAnything could happen in a day - and we need someone who isn't afraid of a long and varied to-do list!
The successful applicant will have an affinity for the needs and aspirations of our whanau, Ngai Tahu Whanui. Alongside this, they will have an understanding of, or an eagerness to learn and engage with our Ngai Tahu values and te reo Maori.
The National Kiwi Hatchery is a fun, unique and safe place to work and we'd like to keep it that way. Before starting with us, you'll go through a range of checks, including drug and alcohol testing. Health and safety is super important and this is part of how we keep you, our team and our customers safe.
