A matou mahi | Our mahi It's our role to ensure sport and recreation in Aotearoa New Zealand is safer and fairer. Our responsibilities are set in New Zealand legislation in the Integrity Sport and Recreation Act 2023 and include commitments to Maori.
Our work includes the anti-doping responsibilities previously undertaken by Drug Free Sport New Zealand and new responsibilities to prevent and respond to other harmful behaviours including abuse, discrimination, and match-fixing.
Primarily based in Auckland Tamaki Makaurau, we're a team who are passionate about safety and fairness in sport and recreation and bring that to our mahi each day - along with our technical expertise.

Mo tenei turanga mahi | About the role We are looking to appoint this role on a fixed term basis through until June 2025, to lead some preliminary work for the new Commission which can provide a platform for sustainable future engagement.
In this mahi, you will provide cultural guidance and expertise with a focus on Maori and Pacific peoples. You will help build meaningful partnerships, including through national level organisations, and support the Commission's engagement with Maori and Pacific peoples.
You will be a direct report of the Chief Executive and will hold a trusted and influential relationship with the Senior Leadership Team, in particular the Strategic Engagement team and Te Ope Tamiro, our RopuMaori.
Ko koe tenei | About you We are seeking an experienced leader who can help Te Kahu Raunui realise its aspiration of engaging and partnering well with Maori and Pacific Peoples in ways that are both tika and pono.
As the successful candidate, you will bring:
Lived experience in teaching, facilitating and capability building in relation to Maori and Pacific peoples perspectives. Solid knowledge of tikanga Maori and Pacific cultures, along with general cultural competence and sensitivity. An understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to organisational strategy, policies, and processes. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. A strong personal commitment to safe and clean sport; and integrity in what and how we engage in sport and recreation. Matatau i te reo me ona tikanga (preferred). This role will be based in Tamaki Makaurau, on a fixed term basis through until June 2025.
