The business was established in direct response to the growing lack of credit in Australia's mid-range property market; a situation exacerbated by the shortage of reputable, risk-adverse, non-bank lenders.Fortis our property development business, has a portfolio of more than $750 million in successfully completed residential and commercial projects, with a further $560 million to be completed by the end of the year.Due to continued growth, Pallas Capital has an opportunity for a Analyst - Credit.About the roleThis role assesses loan applications and provides the Senior Credit Manager and Investment Committee with information to approve a variety of real estate lending opportunities. Being commercially minded, this role requires a holistic approach to assessing opportunities within Pallas' risk appetite, so we meet the expectations of our investors.The successful candidate will have a desire to work in our office as an integral member of our young and growing team who are all passionate about building a differentiated lending business.This position would suit someone with a dynamic mindset, having had experience in a major bank and now is ready to explore secured lending outside of those inflexible parameters.Key Responsibilities:Clearly and concisely articulate the credit risks of a loan request, mitigating those risks with reference to lending policy, core credit principles and current market intelligence.Analyse a diverse range of senior and junior real estate lending opportunities for commercial and residential property.Analyse financial statements as well as valuation and quantity surveyor reports.Draft indicative term sheets.Prepare credit and investment committee papers.Assist the in-house legal team with the preparation of legal documentation, due diligence reports as well as risk and treasury management functions.Support the continuous improvement of underwriting processes, templates, tools and procedures.Support the Origination team in the end-to-end assessment of lending opportunities within Pallas' risk appetite.Prepare investor memorandums (IMs) on specific property transactions as well as emerging market and other general themes.Support the Distribution team in capital raising initiatives.Perform research, data analytics and trend reporting on debt markets and specific real estate assets.Build and maintain strong working relationships with the various stakeholders within the Pallas Group.Bring a positive, 'can do' attitude and a willingness to share your learnings with the team.Relish the opportunity to be part of a growing team operating in an agile, fast-paced environment.About youMinimum 2 years' experience in commercial real estate (CRE) lending.Strong preference for some non-bank lending experience.Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, Economics or a property-related discipline.Relevant postgraduate studies (e.g., CFA, CA, MBA, MFin) would be looked upon favourably.Ability to quickly get across complex company structures and the whole capital stack.Advanced numerical and MS Excel skills with experience in both feasibility studies and financial modelling.Demonstrated knowledge of commercial real estate across multiple asset classes.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.Agile, deal-focused mindset and a desire for continuous professional improvement.Why Pallas GroupThe people are entrepreneurial, the business is young and proving itself fast: it is a great time to join the group.
