Court Registry Officer, Thames District Court / Central Region
Fixed Term, Full Time, 18 months
Te Haeata / The Opportunity
As a Court Registry Officer, you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders who are interacting with the Justice system, including communicating confidently with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary.
Key Responsibilities:
Court Management: Facilitate the running of the court, including introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, managing jurors, and general administration of the court.
Case Management: Ensure that the Judiciary and case parties have all the information they need, and that logistics are in place to ensure cases are heard in a timely manner.
Customer Service: Interact with customers on any court-related matter through face-to-face, phone, or email interactions.
Travel: Travel within the Waikato Courts may be required; therefore, a full clean New Zealand driving licence is necessary.

You will be able to demonstrate strong customer service skills, quality decision-making, be solutions-focused, and possess the personal confidence and resilience to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
To be successful, you will need to be:
Detail-oriented and observant; the court has many different processes, and case information needs to be accurate.
Self-aware; our participants are unique, and you will be confident working individually and as a team across various situations.
Able to multi-task; some processes are repetitive, so you will manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly.
Willing to learn; legislation and court processes are always changing, and you can adapt and maintain knowledge capital.
Resilient; as a Court Registry Officer, you might work on sensitive cases, sometimes at high volume.

Utu a-tau / Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to $80,794; the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
