Te aheinga: The opportunity We are looking for a skilled professional to lead our corporate planning team. Bring your skills to shape the development and maintenance of effective policies, strategies, and plans, to support Council activities and projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead, motivate and mentor the corporate planning team of two advisors. Develop, review and maintain strategic plans, policies and procedures including the preparation and review of Bylaws. Stay updated and advise on external legislation, policies and central government directives affecting local government operations and advise on any changes. Undertake and apply socio-economic research. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and feedback on strategies and policies. Minimum Requirements: A tertiary qualification in planning, law, economics or other relevant discipline and a minimum of 5 years' experience in strategy and corporate planning ideally in the local government sector or similar. Previous leadership/management experience in this area of work would be advantageous. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder relationship management at both regional and national level.
