We are on the lookout for a highly organised, personable and experienced person to join Team Mack as our Corporate Planner. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week. The Corporate Planner will lead the analysis, support and development of key Council plans. A core component of this position is project planning, ensuring the delivery and coordination of a large range of Council activities. This position has both technical and interpersonal components; requiring a candidate who has the diverse skill set to deliver high quality work to deadlines, whilst prioritising building relationships both internally and between the Council and community. Core responsibilities of the Corporate Planner role include: Coordinate and manage preparation and delivery of Council's Long-Term Plan, Annual Plan and Annual Reports Deliver quality project management processes, templates and documentation Provide regular reports of key statutory and corporate plans Work alongside the Communications Team to provide effective community engagement Develop and review internal Council policies and procedures to ensure consistency and statutory requirements are met Provide practical policy advice for internal and external processes, or to other employees, Councillors or committees when required Deliver appropriate risk reporting and risk management policies and procedures Successful candidates will have: A relevant tertiary qualification in planning, policy, resource management or related field is desirable, or equivalent work experience is required 3 – 5 years work experience in the Local government sector or planning or policy development is preferable A strong working knowledge of legislative frameworks, especially the Local Government Act 2002, or a proven ability to learn quickly High level of technical competence in statutory and policy frameworks and policy writing An ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people Proven and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and abilities Excellent time management and strong project management skills is essential To find out more about the Corporate Planner role please click here to read the position description.
