About the role
Take ownership of this pivotal role, supporting the Group Corporate Finance function in making value-enhancing financial decisions related to M&A activities and Gen35 investments. Key responsibilities include:
Building and maintaining cashflow models to support key investment decisions.
Conducting detailed investment valuation and return analysis, focusing on renewable energy and flexibility business cases, and preparing Group WACC by asset grouping.
Preparing average price paths for accounting valuation purposes.
Performing comprehensive financial analyses to support financial models and provide management with well-founded challenges.
Preparing cost of capital assessments for financial reporting and monitoring key financial metrics.
Maintaining and communicating essential economic indicators, including competitor analysis and Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
About you
You bring extensive experience in financial modelling and analysis for major capital projects or mergers and acquisitions, along with a deep understanding of financial markets. Your strong interpersonal and teamwork skills enable you to collaborate effectively across the company, while your enthusiastic attitude and eagerness to learn and engage set you apart. Key skills include:
At least 2 years of experience in a Big 4 corporate finance function or an equivalent role within a medium to large organisation.
Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, or engineering; experience or exposure to the energy and gas industry is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent analytical abilities coupled with strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills.
Proven experience in identifying, assessing, and executing M&A opportunities and transactions.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; knowledge of SQL coding is beneficial, and experience with Power BI and metrics review is an asset.
