Corporate Accountant - Wine Industry Full Time Populous People Location: Hastings, Hawke's Bay This is a great opportunity to be part of the New Zealand wine industry.
If you are a qualified accountant with expertise in financial accounting and reporting, we would love to hear from you.
You will sit amongst a finance and admin team in Hawke's Bay and report to a Senior Finance Manager based out of the region.
All tools are set up at our Hawke's Bay winery to keep you linked into the corporate team.
Your core focus will be to assist the Senior Finance Manager in meeting reporting obligations, lead the management of fixed assets, and manage the transactional team.
There will be a strong process improvement focus, as you will establish and enhance the accounting and reporting processes across the team.
You will also manage month-end processes to produce timely financial results, assist with balance sheet reconciliations, and oversee payroll.
You will play a key role in supporting managers to understand and evaluate department performance, operating costs, trends, and forecasts to develop sound business and investment decisions.
We need someone with a good track record in financial accounting, ideally with relatability to a winery or similar environment.
You should be a tertiary qualified accountant, ideally CA or equivalent.
You must be technically competent in transactional accounting detail, keen to help make process improvements, and able to analyze numbers.
Experience with stock-based operations, manufacturing, production, and value-added operations is essential.
You will be able to balance workflow and priorities across financial accounting processes and have proven experience in data reporting and reconciliation.
An approachable, pragmatic style, open communication skills, and a high level of initiative will help you feel right at home.
