Coordinator of Donor & Alumni Engagement Reporting to the Manager of Advancement and Alumni Relations and taking an exceptional service and relationship-based approach, this position is responsible for coordinating a specialized project to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the Rural Pre-Medicine program. Monitoring and managing fund and gift agreements, award terms of references, and other gift structures; andFacilitating donor giving options for awards, programs, services and facilitiesConducting prospect research, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting new donors.Lead the development and execution of college fundraising initiatives by:Coordinating the execution of annual and special campaigns.Assisting with capital campaigns (strategy, communication, and execution);Coordinating stewardship, fundraising and sponsorship events in collaboration with the Advancement team and other college departments.Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for stewardship and fundraising events.Reviewing and supporting fundraising initiatives that are conducted by college departments; andProviding direction and tools to members of the college community who are undertaking fundraising activities for the college.Support the development of the donor, alumni, awards databases for Selkirk College & Selkirk College Foundation by:Accurately and consistently entering all donor and communication data into the donor database;Accurately and consistently entering all fund and awards data into financial records and awards database;Uploading completed fund and gift agreements and awards terms of reference into the awards database;Coordinating the management of disbursement periods in the awards database;Extracting, reviewing and providing reports from the awards/donor database for donors;And developing fundraising and campaign metrics reports in the donor database to provide to advancement and college leadership.Develop an active alumni community that supports the mission of Selkirk College by:Cultivating strong relationships with past students through programs, giving, volunteering, or communications.Coordinating the development of alumni programs including but not limited to discounts cards, affinity partnerships, mentorship, and alumni learning webinars.Supporting the college's awards program to recognize outstanding alumni achievement and engagement.Strategizing and collaborating with faculty and departments to share resources, integrate messaging, and maximize exposure and benefits to alumni, the college and broader community.Collaborating with the Marketing & Communications teams on alumni social media content and digital engagement strategies, including developing strategic contests and communications on social platforms.Drafting and editing various alumni communications and writing assignments, working closely with the Marketing and Communications team members.Transitioning highly engaged alumni to the donor/development cycle.Developing program(s) to educate current students about the value of being a Selkirk College alumnus.Work with the Advancement team to accurately gather and enter data; andTracking, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting alumni engagement metrics to help inform future strategies.Maintain a current knowledge base regarding best practices, innovations and trends within both the fundraising and alumni relations industries by:Contributing to the collective knowledge of current best practices (including web and use of technology) and forming related recommendations.Understanding and supporting data-driven decision-making.Writing and coordinating documents that support monitoring, evaluation and reporting to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and campaigns (project briefs, wrap reports with key learnings, metrics reports);And utilizing a research and best-practices approach to undertaking responsibilities.Represent the college at events which have fundraising or alumni implications.Contribute to the annual advancement strategic plan.Work within the assigned budget.Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesExceptional customer service, interpersonal and people skills. Public speaking experience considered an asset.Highly organized with excellent project management and planning skills to achieve goals and deadlines;Strong verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail, spelling and grammar;Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for strategic data entry, segmentation, receipting and reporting in a CRM database;Proven ability to learn quickly and work under pressure, independently, and as part of a team;Ability to use an integrated marketing communications approach;Flexibility and adaptability in the face of changing operational priorities;High standard of professional etiquette, ethics, integrity and judgement.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or business administration from a recognized post-secondary institution. A combination of other related education and experience may be considered.A minimum of 2-3 years experience in a professional fundraising or alumni relations role, preferably in a post-secondary institution;A minimum of 2 years experience with CRM software, preferably Raiser's Edge;Experience in event planning and execution is considered an asset;Valid BC Driver's license.This is a temporary, part-time (50%) position commencing approximately March 11, 2024 and ending September 10, 2024, with the possibility of extension.The salary is pay grade 10 - $34.99 per hour (subject to JE review) - in accordance with the PPWC Collective AgreementOriginal job Coordinator of Donor / Alumni Engagement posted on GrabJobs .
