Te Hauora o Ngati Rarua is a Kaupapa Maori health service committed to providing the very best care to all whanau in our hapori (community) of Wairau who need our tautoko (support).
About the role – Mo te tunga The role of the Tu Pono team is to support whanau affected by family and sexual harm in accessing specialist support services, reinforcing the whanau voice.
Closely support those whanau who wish to access Te Ao Maori solutions in addressing family violence and sexual harm.
Facilitate gatherings such as hui (meetings), wananga (educational seminars, workshops), led by whanau, that are focused on supporting whanau where appropriate.
Collaborate with other community agencies and providers in the Kaupapa (purpose) working to eliminate family violence and sexual abuse in our communities.
Crucial in this Connector Coordinator role is the ability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with local and regional community stakeholders to drive systemic change.
The successful applicant for this role will have: Experience in working alongside those who are affected by family violence, sexual harm, and/or other forms of abuse.
Knowledge and experience in service and programme planning, implementation and evaluation.
Experience in the coordination of services, effective and efficient resource management.
Knowledge of Iwi and Maori provider networks across Te Tau Ihu (top of the South Island).
Keyboard and computing skills, working at a competent level, including within TOMM, the electronic database used by the organisation.
