In return for theircontribution, we offer kaimahi a range of benefits including:About the roleWe are looking for a Cook (Kaitautoko) – EarlyLearning Centre to join us at our (Whare Amai Puna Reo) on a permanent, part time (20 hours per week) basis based in Gisborne.
As our Cook, you will play a vital role inensuring that our Tamariki receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that supporttheir growth and development.
You will be responsible for planning andpreparing morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, following food safetyregulations, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.At times, you may be required to provide additionalsupport on the floor to maintain staff-to-child ratios and ensure a safe and engaginglearning environment.
Aboutyou – You'll have:A Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level3) or related field.
A Food Safety Certificate.
A sound understanding of nutritional needs forTamariki ages 3 months to 5 years old.
The ability to cook 30-50 child portion meals andsnacks daily.
Knowledge of the Food Act 2014 and NationalProgramme 2.
A Full NZ Drivers' License (Class 1).
A sound understanding of te reo Maori phrases, mihiand greetings, and Maori values, culture, and tikanga, would be advantageous.This role is classified as a Core Worker and willneed to pass a safety check under the Children's Act 2014.
The ability to lift, bend and stand for longperiods of time.
