Drive operational improvement initiatives and oversee capital projects for a highly successful food manufacturer in Christchurch supplying to NZ and global markets.
You, the Candidate: As a suitable candidate for this role, you will bring previous experience identifying and driving lean manufacturing initiatives/continuous improvement projects within a food or dairy manufacturing environment.
You will also have shown your ability to lead and mentor a team and have strong technical knowledge of food safety and environmental management systems.
In addition, the preferred candidate will have the following skills, experience, qualifications: Qualification in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Technology, Packaging Technology, or related fields.
5+ years' experience across continuous improvement and project management in a manufacturing environment.
Food/Dairy/FMCG experience.
Experience with food packaging, particularly MAP.
Analytical and financial modelling skills.
Strong capability in problem-solving and decision-making.
People leadership experience with the ability to drive positive change through influencing and collaboration skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a multitasking environment.
Stakeholder engagement and management.
NZ working rights.
The Opportunity: Reporting to the GM Operations, the Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for providing lean manufacturing support and driving a culture of continuous improvement within our client's manufacturing plant to ensure maximum profitability and recovery of value from the manufacturing processes.
Your core tasks will also include: Identifying and prioritising opportunities for improvements and strategic opportunities for value capture.
Assisting with capital projects.
Managing continuous improvement projects for plant optimisation and cost reduction.
Assisting with NPD commercialisation.
Supporting the team to drive continuous improvement in OEE.
Utilising lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
