Job Posting Number AR-031Job Title: Consultant RadiologistOpen to: All NZ and overseas Medical Doctors who qualify for NZ medical registrationLocation: Dunedin, South Island, New ZealandJob Type: Permanent, Full-TimeRelocation: A relocation package will be offered to the successful candidate who agrees to stay for a minimum of two yearsSalary: $150,000 to $200,000 Base Salary DOE/DOQStart Date: Within 180 days after offer acceptanceIntroduction:Dunedin is a great little city with a big town feel and well-known for its Southern Hospitality, with some of New Zealand's most famous scenery and holiday spots on your doorstep (Queenstown, Wanaka, Milford Sound, Stewart Island, to name but a few). The Southern region offers affordable living, great schools, and a relaxed way of life with no traffic jams in sight. Dunedin is also home to Otago University which has a Medical School and close tertiary link with the Dunedin Hospital. Dunedin offers an excellent lifestyle with a reasonable cost of living compared to most cities in New Zealand.About the Hospital:The two main hospitals in the region are located in Dunedin and Invercargill and both are affiliated with the University of Otago Medical School and have opportunities for teaching and research. Dunedin Hospital is a tertiary level hospital with 350 beds and provides all major specialties. Rebuilt in 2004, Invercargill hospital is a modern 160 bed secondary care facility that prides itself on having excellent facilities and equipment. Both hospitals offer a full range of imaging modalities based on a digital RIS / PACS system.The nature of the work will be predominantly emergency and inpatient cases and will involve the supervision of radiology registrars working alongside you. You would be expected to support and participate in radiology service and quality initiatives as part of your role.Primary Requirements Include:At least five years' post board certified/registered/licensed experience in RadiologyInterventional skills are a plus but not requiredAble and willing to work afternoon and/or evening shifts supporting both Invercargill and Dunedin Hospitals with final readsHave worked at least 30-40 hours a week for the past four yearsAble to receive your New Zealand vocational registrationAble and willing to provide support on a rostered on-call basis for after hours and weekend readings if asked to do soAble to get a work visaMust have completed your specialist residency and training which is comparable to that of a NZ graduateExcellent English and communications skillsGood team-oriented skillsGood sense of humourAble to start work within 180 days of offerClear practice record with no malpractice suits or complaintsAble and willing to commit for at least two years desiredWe will assist the successful candidate in applying for and receiving their NZ vocational registration and direct you to a NZ registered Immigration Consultant to advise you on how to successfully apply for your work visa.
