Mo te turanga - About the role
Our Radiology Service provides to a population of approximately 310,000 people over the lower South Island, focusing predominantly on emergency and inpatient cases.
We offer a full range of imaging modalities based on digital RIS/PACS systems, including MRI, Interventional, CT, and ultrasound; however, we do not offer mammography services.
Our vacancy requires a Radiologist with a general scope of skills, including MRI and CT guided procedures; ultrasound experience is advantageous but not essential for success in this role.

Quality is at the center of our service, and there is an expectation that you will participate in quality initiatives as part of your role.
You will participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster shared equally among your Radiologist colleagues.

Southern DHB is affiliated with the University of Otago Medical School, and Southland Hospital provides training to Registrars from the Royal Australasian College of Radiologists, so you should be enthusiastic about teaching and passing on your knowledge to junior staff.
You must be FRANZCR qualified (or equivalent) and hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ.
If you are an international candidate, you can be considered for this role under the condition that you are eligible for vocational registration with the MCNZ.

Utu whanui - Salary range
This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata)
