We are a very cohesive team and work collegially with our radiation therapy and medical physics colleagues, creating a rewarding work environment. We also work closely with our oncology and surgical colleagues in multidisciplinary clinics across several sites. We offer HDR brachytherapy for gynaecological, prostate, and skin cancers, and a radioactive iodine service for thyroid cancer. We offer stereotactic treatment to several sites. Our focus for 2024 is to extend our stereotactic programme and our research programme.Wellington is an accredited training facility for radiation oncology registrars, radiation therapists, and medical physicists. There is a research unit in the department to support a wide range of local, national, and international studies. We have close links with the University of Otago Medical School and Department of Radiation Therapy, should you wish to get involved.Minimum Requirements:Vocationally registered in Radiation Oncology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)FRANZCR or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZWork in collaboration with multidisciplinary teamsAble to provide consistently high standards of medical careRelevant experience and trainingCapital, Coast and Hutt Valley District is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region.
