You will work within a small multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for the psychiatric assessment and care of patients.

Your responsibilities will include assessment and treatment while working collaboratively with the primary health sector consistent with our values.
You will also contribute to ongoing service improvement and workforce innovation.
You will be able to join our regular meetings with our base hospitals through video conferencing.
There is a requirement to contribute to the Southland after-hours on-call roster, but the frequency of this can be negotiated.

Mou ake – About you As a Consultant Psychiatrist with previous general adult experience in either an inpatient or community setting, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and a dedication to working as part of a team.
Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position.
You will have a strong commitment to service user and family/whanau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery.
A sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism is essential.
You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels.
Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is essential, and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council.
A full driver's licence is also essential for this role.
