Consultant Psychiatrist - Maternal and Infant Mental Health, Northland New Zealand Permanent, part-time position (0.4 FTE)

The Mental Health and Addiction Services in Northland are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Maternal and Infant Mental Health service. This is a permanent, part-time role intended to be 16 hours per week.
We are looking for a skilled Psychiatrist to provide assessment and management of clients under the care of the Maternal and Infant Mental Health (MIMH) service. Based across Northland New Zealand, this role will provide expert psychiatric opinion and advice to clinicians working within other specialties as well as providing supervision to the registrar workforce.
Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau (formerly Northland District Health Board) provides public health services across the Northland region, from north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga serving a growing population of 190,000. Whangarei Hospital is the largest hospital in Northland providing secondary care services, supported by three rural hospitals in Kaitaia; Kawakawa, and Dargaville.

To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in either a vocational or locum tenens – special purpose Psychiatry scope of practice. FRANZCP and/or postgraduate qualifications are preferred, however, we are happy to hear from those near completion of their studies.
