Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleWe are looking for a Community Psychiatrist for our Community Mental Health Team North who is an energetic, well qualified and skilled consultant psychiatrist who would enjoy working in a provincial community mental health service. Psychiatrists within the community mental health teams play a critical role in assessing, treating, and monitoring patients with serious mental illnesses and associated co-existing conditions. The role requires a combination of clinical expertise, the ability to work cooperatively in teams, and the ability to exercise clinical leadership.About the Team/Service/LocationOur multidisciplinary teams include psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, an occupational therapist, addiction practitioner, and peer support workers. We also offer Maori cultural support through Kaitakawaenga and Pou Whirinaki Hinengaro Maori. We have strong administrative support and a well-developed leadership team. Our model of care is flexible and responsive to the diverse needs of our community. We accept referrals from primary care, hospital and specialist services, other districts, and we operate a "walk-in clinic." The CMHT North provides mental health and addiction services to the communities of Napier and Wairoa.About youYou will be vocationally registered in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or hold an equivalent qualification and be able to qualify for vocational registration with MCNZ. Leadership, resilience, and the ability to set boundaries whilst maintaining supportive collegial relationships are highly desirable personal attributes.
