Napier District Masonic Trust, consisting of Taradale Masonic Resthome and Hospital and Elmwood Masonic House and Hospital, has an excellent reputation for providing quality residential aged care and affordable retirement village accommodation. Our mission statement is to encourage and maintain the independence, activity and personal options of residents, within a caring environment, whilst embracing the traditional Masonic principles.
We currently have a fulltime Healthcare Assistant vacancy, working across both our facilities in Napier South and Taradale, for a minimum of 32 hours per week.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working as a Healthcare assistant is a busy and diverse role, assisting our residents with their daily living needs and cares, delivering meals, providing emotional care and support and much more. Whether you are an experienced Healthcare worker or someone looking to start their career, working as a Healthcare Assistant is a rewarding career path and a vital part of our team optimising the quality of life of our residents.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To thrive in our friendly and supportive environment and provide quality and consistent care to residents we are looking for someone who:
Has experience working in health care and/or a desire to work in a aged care environment;
Can provide empathy, care and patience with elderly residents;
Possesses outstanding communication skills;
Is friendly and professional with a high regard for privacy and confidentiality;
Has a reliable and punctual work ethic;
Has a sense of humour who enjoys working as part of a close well-functioning team;
Is culturally sensitive.
Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided including a supportive and tailored orientation programme to suit individual needs. We also support our Health Care Assistants toward gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
Remuneration is between $23.15 - $29.10 gross per hour depending on qualification level equivalent. Additional employee benefits also apply.
