Do you have an interest in helping us to develop a state of the art recovery programme for people having complex mental health needs? We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to participate in the on-going development of the recovery programme at Tamaki Oranga Recovery Centre. Tamaki Oranga is a 20 bed, free-standing residential facility located in the South Auckland area. It serves men having complex and persistent psychiatric disability from across the motu, who are in need of a longer-term, supportive recovery programme in order to prepare for life in the community. Over half our service users are of Maaori or Pacific ethnicity, and it is a priority to make our service approach responsive to their cultural needs. Supported by the leadership team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to strategic and service development. Working alongside the Service Manager, Acute & Hospital Services, the Clinical Head and members of the Senior Leadership Team, you will support implementation of service goals, and grow a workplace of excellence, by applying the latest evidence to inform the model of care. Our Consultant Psychiatrist will be supported by a team consisting of nursing staff, a psychologist, a social worker, and an occupational therapist. Vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ in the scope of Psychiatry and a current APC is essential at commencement of employment.
