Wellington Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is looking for a Neonatologist to join the team in a permanent position.
We are one of the largest NICUs in NZ, with a fantastic, multidisciplinary team who value collaboration in a friendly and supportive environment.
Wellington NICU is a 40 cot unit, with close to 1000 admissions per year, providing intensive care for medical and surgical infants from central New Zealand. We run a busy neonatal retrieval service, with the majority of transports via air as well as medical and long-term neurodevelopmental follow-up clinics.
We have a strong emphasis on practicing and contributing to international best practice. Huge value has always been placed on having the very best, modern equipment and resources. It certainly makes working here very satisfying!

As a Neonatal Consultant at Wellington hospital, you would help to be part of this leadership group, bringing the team along with you.

Minimum Requirements: Vocationally registered in Neonatal-Perinatal medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
FRACP or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
CCPU or similar qualification and experience in neonatal clinician performed ultrasounds (cardiac and cranial)
Experience in follow-up of infants with complex medical issues and high risk of neurodevelopmental impairment (Training and experience in General Movement Assessments and Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development would be highly valued)
Ability to work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
Relevant experience and training
