Construction Manager - Role based in Suva, FijiCompetitive Remuneration Package including Company VehicleAnnual Incentive SchemeYearly Accommodation AllowanceYearly Travel Allowance (Return trips to New Zealand)Great Team CultureAquaheat is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join our Fiji business with the ideal background being that of a HVAC Mechanical Contracts/ Project Manager who has a passion to train and develop staff with the knowledge that they have gained over the years in delivering successful HVAC Mechanical projects.The Construction Manager is a hands-on role working very closely with our Contracts Managers across the HVAC Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection trades. The HVAC Mechanical segment is by far the largest portion of our business in Fiji, and we are looking for an experienced Senior HVAC Mechanical Manager to join our Fiji operation with the role based in Suva.Aquaheat South Pacific Limited is one of the largest Air Conditioning and HVAC Mechanical contractors in the Pacific region, specialising in the supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of HVAC Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection services with clients made up from a broad range of sectors including government departments, education facilities, as well as many of Fiji's leading resorts, blue-chip corporations, large commercial organisations, and manufacturing facilities.The purpose of the role is to:Work hand-in-hand with each contract and/or project manager to create a mutual understanding of the project strategy based on the specifications/requirements of the project and pricing psychology at time of tender.Support project managers, engineers and workshop staff assigned to each project to ensure the right plant and equipment is selected including pipe and ductwork sizing to maximise the profitability of each project.Work with the purchasing officer to ensure timely and cost-effective ordering of any plant, equipment and consumable items sourced from overseas, taking into account freight and customs costs.Schedule and manage field labour placement and general manpower needs for all project sites, including recruitment of additional staff to meet project demands.Oversee and audit projects to ensure work is completed according to outlined specifications, industry and Aquaheat quality standards, and conforming with the head contractors/clients project programme.Ensure detailed cost of completes are completed line by line against each cost category each month on all projects in Fiji.Support project managers with procurement strategy, variation management and final account negotiations.Work with HSEQ Manager to ensure all projects in Fiji have all HSEQ documentation and processes in line with Aquaheat and head contractor/client expectations.Train and mentor employees in developing their trade-related skills and project management expertise.Build meaningful relationships with all key stakeholders within the head contractors/clients we work on, ensuring that each project team meets the agreed objectives.Aid our estimators on complex tenders with regard to buildability and/or technical issues.Qualifications and Experience:Tertiary qualification/engineering degree in the HVAC Mechanical trade or relevant construction industry experience.10 years of experience and proven track record in senior management roles.Intimate knowledge and experience in the HVAC Mechanical industry.People management expertise with the ability to lead, coordinate, motivate and develop employees.Knowledge of building and service regulations and statutory obligations.Experience in client relationship/account management.Proven ability to meet deadlines with a diverse range of tasks to manage.Experience working within OH&S guidelines.We are looking for someone who has a genuine belief in providing excellent customer service, is highly motivated with a 'can do' attitude.Aquaheat as part of the Horizon Energy Group takes pride in its commitment to the health and safety of all its stakeholders.
