The HVAC Mechanical segment is by far the largest portion of our business in Fiji, and we are looking for an experienced Senior HVAC Mechanical Manager to join our Fiji operation with the role based in Su va.Aquaheat South Pacific Limited is one of the largest Air Conditioning and HVAC Mechanical contractors in the Pacific region, specialising in the supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of HVAC Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection services with with our clients made up from a broad range of sectors including government departments, education facilities, as well as many of Fiji's 's leading resorts, blue-chip corporations, large commercial organisations, and manufacturing faciliti es.Aquaheat South Pacific Limited is owned and operated by Aquaheat New Zealand Limited which is 100% New Zealand owned and operated with deep roots throughout the New Zealand business community dating back to the 1950 's.We are looking for a Construction Manager to work very closely with the General Manager for Fiji which consists of business units located throughout Fiji with our larger project works predominantly taking place in Suva and Na di.The Construction Manager direct reports are the various Contracts Managers and Project Managers in Fiji who they will work closely with to ensure that each and every project is managed in line with industry standards meeting Aquaheat's high standards in terms of quality workmanship and safety objectiv es.The purpose of the role is to:Working hand-in-hand with each contract and/or project manager to create a mutual understanding of the project strategy based on the specifications/ requirements of the project and pricing psychology at time of tend er.Support project managers, engineers and workshop staff assigned to each project to ensure the right plant and equipment is selected including pipe and ductwork sizing to maximise the profitability of each proje ct.Work with the purchasing officer to ensure any plant, equipment and consumable items that we source from overseas are ordered in a timely and the most cost-effective manner taking into account any freight and customs cos ts.Work with each contract and/or project manager and schedule and manage field labour placement and general manpower needs for all project sites. This includes recruitment of additional staff to meet project demands both short and long te rm.Oversee and audit projects as they are being carried out to make sure that the work is completed according to outlined specifications, industry and Aquaheat quality standards and that they also conform with the head contractors/ clients project program me.Ensure detailed cost of completes are completed line by line against each cost category each month on all projects in Fi ji.Support project managers with procurement strategy, variation management and final account negotiatio ns.Work with HSEQ Manager to ensure all projects in Fiji have all HSEQ documentation and processes in line with Aquaheat and head contractor/ client expectatio ns.Train and mentor employees in areas of developing their trade related skills and project management experti se.Build meaningful relationships with all key stakeholders within the head contractors/ client sites we work on ensuring that each project team are meeting the agreed objectiv es.Aid our estimators on complex tenders with regard to buildability and/ or technical issu e s .Qualifications and Experi ence:Tertiary qualification/ engineering degree in the HVAC Mechanical trade or relevant construction industry experi ence.10 years of experience and proven track record in senior management r oles.Intimate knowledge and experience in the HVAC Mechanical indu stry.People management expertise with the ability to lead, coordinate, motivate and develop employees to create an efficient workf orce.Knowledge of building and service regulations and statutory obligat ions.Experience in client relationship/account manage ment.Proven ability to meet deadlines with a diverse range of tasks to ma nage.Experience working within OH&S guidel ines.We are looking for someone who has a genuine belief in providing excellent customer service, is highly motivated with a "can do" atti tude.Aquaheat as part of the Horizon Energy Group takes pride in its commitment to the health and safety of all its stakeholders.
