Together, we are committed to achieving extraordinary results.About the role:We are seeking a dynamic Compliance & Regulatory Lead to provide expert compliance and regulatory advice, guidance and support, and to ensure compliance risks are effectively managed across our New Zealand and Australian operations.Being a key member of the risk and legal team and reporting to the Chief Risk & Legal Officer, you'll enhance compliance management, reporting, and assurance activities. This involves supporting engagement with regulators and driving continuous improvement in our compliance systems, processes and assurance activities.As we position ourselves for growth, you will play a crucial role in shaping a robust compliance framework that supports our ambitious objectives in Australasia and ensures our continued success.About you:Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Finance or similarMinimum 10 years' experience in financial services in New Zealand, Australia or comparable common law jurisdictionStrong compliance and regulatory background in financial services, with good working knowledge in at least two of the following:Australian prudential regulation (APRA), licensing, and consumer protection (ASIC)New Zealand insurance prudential supervision (RBNZ) and consumer protection (FMA)UK prudential regulation (PRA) and conduct regulation (FCA)Experience in compliance, risk, regulatory and/or legal roles within an Australian insurance company, with knowledge of APRA standards and AFS Licensee obligations, would be desirableEngagement experience with regulators such as APRA, ASIC, RBNZ, FMA, PRA, and/or FCA.Bring strong leadership skills, particularly in terms of your ability to collaborate, influence in a positive way and to role model our valuesSuperb oral and written communication skills and can effectively convey messages with varied audiences using different methodsBe highly organised with a proven ability to prioritise and manage dynamic workloadsComfortable working in ambiguous and changing environments.There are lots of reasons you'd want to work with us:Here are just a few:Fully subsidised medical insurance for you and your immediate whanauSubsidised pet and travel insurance and special discounts for your whanauAdditional parental leave benefitsLife & terminal illness insuranceExcellent work/life balance, including 5 days of wellbeing leaveOpportunity to purchase flexi leaveFlexible working options including work from home several days a week.Here at Southern Cross Travel Insurance, we recognise that people are as diverse as the places our customers travel to.
