Mo tenei turanga mahi | About this role The Complaints Assessment Team is at the frontline of the Commissioner's contact with the community.
They respond to enquiries, receive and resolve complaints, and engage with key stakeholders and members of the public The role of the Complaints Assessment Assistant is to help progress complaint files and draft legally sound, high quality correspondence to all parties.

* Able to engage with complainants/ consumers on the phone, and in writing.
* Proven ability to identify and solve problems * Ability to work autonomously.
* Excellent organisational skills –able to manage time, set priorities and meet deadlines.
* Methodical approach with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Demonstrated ability to use IT systems.
* Calm and professional approach, with the ability to work well under pressure and manage difficult subject matter.
* Enthusiasm for working as part of a team - empathic and supportive of colleagues.
* An understanding of, and interest in, the health and disability sector in New Zealand.
* An understanding of the principles of the Te Tiriti O Waitangi and the aims and aspirations of Maori.
