As our newest Senior Housing Support Manager in our Blenheim office, you'll work directly with a portfolio of our customers and their whanau with higher support requirements and more complex needs, building meaningful and lasting relationships to ensure customers' housing and wellbeing needs are being met, and continue to be met as they change over time. You will have an in-depth and holistic understanding of customers' housing and wellbeing needs, as well as a wealth of knowledge of support services available to ensure that our customers live with the greatest degree of independence possible. This role will see you venturing into the community to meet customers in their homes, supporting them to access the services they need. At times you'll need to uphold regulations and communicate outcomes that impact our customers to support them to live well in our Kainga Ora homes. You'll also play a key role in coaching and mentoring our Housing Support Managers to develop team capability. If you have a sense of empathy and compassion for our customers, strong computer-based administrative skills and a demonstrated experience with navigating courageous conversations, then we would love to hear from you. Here's what we'd love for you to bring to the role: Specialised skills and experience working with customers who may have challenging housing and related wellbeing needs. Prior property management experience would be advantageous. Extensive experience in deescalating highly emotional situations and conversations. Strong observational and analytical skills that can be applied to practical situations, without applying bias to those observations. Demonstrated skills in strength-based conversations to help customers shape their thinking on their wellbeing priorities and support customers to develop their go forward/next steps. Cultural awareness to align approach to our customers' aspirations and preferences, particularly in working with Maori and Pasifika. Demonstrated experience in managing complex caseloads. Strong organisational, administrative, planning and time management skills to prioritise portfolio needs. Ability to manage professional boundaries, show good ethical judgement, and apply policies and code of conduct, processes and practice guidelines. As this role requires travelling around the local region, a current New Zealand driver's licence is required.
