The Opportunity
Don't miss this rare opportunity to join Spring Creek Vintners as Viticulturist. With the long-standing incumbent relocating overseas, the time to join the SCVL team is now.
You will work closely with talented winemakers and industry experts, assisting you to successfully oversee 200ha of company vineyards, as well as contract growers. You will also lead an established team in the planning and implementation of all viticultural activities.
This is a stand-out role for a motivated, results-driven individual who is adept at fostering a top team culture. You will work hands-on alongside your team where required, and will bring your eye for quality and safety, delivering exceptional viticultural practices across a diverse range of vineyard sites in the Marlborough region.
The Company
Spring Creek Vintners is a leading family-owned Marlborough operator. They offer a full range of specialised winemaking services, producing wine on behalf of a variety of wine businesses, while also exporting a portfolio of award-winning wines under the Rapaura Springs and Summerhouse brands.

The Role

Lead a team of vineyard managers and operators across company vineyards to deliver top quality fruit
Work with and support a fantastic group of growers across the Marlborough region
Oversee and direct all operations of company vineyards in accordance with plans developed by the Viticulturist and Winemaking team
Be actively involved in all aspects of the growing process throughout the entire season, from planning pruning, developing spray plans, adapting to changes in seasonal requirements and harvest coordination
Ensure all fruit is grown to the highest possible quality standard in an efficient and professional manner
Assist in the management of vineyard budgets and timelines to achieve optimum results for contracted growers and winemaking processes
Participate in and enhance any accreditation assurance programmes being operated by the company
Ensure that health and safety standards are met and adhered to in all vineyard operations
Your Profile

You will hold a tertiary qualification in Viticulture, or relevant related fields
A minimum of five years' industry experience in a similar role, proven ability to manage multiple vineyard sites and stakeholders
Experience in vineyard production is essential, including SWNZ accreditation
Working knowledge of viticulture systems, processes, and safety requirements
Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work to multiple deadlines
Self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team, and independently, when required
Contribute to maintaining a strong health and safety culture and identify continuous improvement opportunities
Bring a sense of humour, passion for winemaking and desire to have fun to this dedicated, hardworking team
In a position to relocate to Marlborough, with unrestricted working rights within NZ
