Pact is currently looking for a FULL TIME Community Support Worker to work in our Intellectual Disability SIL service in Wellington

The Role

Your role will include supporting the clients to participate in meaningful activities in the community, support with daily house tasks, and assistance with personal hygiene. Further assisting in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau and cultural reconnection.

Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field will be an advantage due to the complex high needs of our clients.

Your days may vary, but will consist of:

Engaging with clients

Setting and achieving individual personal goals

Encouraging client participation in day to day life

Supporting them with activities of daily living

Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs

Supporting clients with personal hygiene

Activities within the community

Supporting social and whanau connection

Motivating clients to know they have purpose

Ensuring client processes are accurately documented

Most importantly supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives

Hours of work are at present: 80 Hours Per Fortnight

Desired Skills and Experience

Pact is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to work alongside people with an intellectual disability who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a 'can do' attitude.

A full driver's licence and computer skills are essential.

If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months.

If shortlisted, you must be available for an interview in Lower Hutt .
