Access Community Registered Nurses work in the community, carrying out social and clinical assessments, developing and overseeing support plans, and mentoring and verifying the competence of our support workers. They review the effectiveness of our Access service to ensure that we provide safe, effective care and support to our clients.
Autonomous, client-focused role
Utilize all your health and social skills in support of palliative clients in the community
Full-time, based in Christchurch
Work within the community as a Palliative Care Nurse and enable clients to remain in their homes during the end stages of life
This role is varied and includes symptom management, end-of-life care, psychosocial support, advocacy & liaising with MDT to facilitate care.

Registered Health Professional with a current practicing certificate.
Experience in long-term conditions or medical nursing is highly desirable
Excellent verbal communication skills, coupled with a caring nature and the ability to connect and interact within a multi-cultural environment.
Intermediate level computer and online information recording skills.
The ability to plan and organize assignments effectively, establish priorities, and meet deadlines in a demanding, client-focused environment.
Have a positive, resilient, flexible, and adaptable personality
A high level of interpersonal, assessment, and communication skills
A current full driver's license is essential
A demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the workplace
Actively demonstrates the ability and desire to show cultural sensitivity, awareness, and understanding of diversity.
