Community Development (Community Services & Development) PSEC is one of the largest providers of social and health services in New Zealand.
Our East Coast team is made up of over 220 staff and 100 volunteers across our services, which include Enliven and Family Works in Hawke's Bay, and two charity shops.
Enliven Disability Services work alongside young people under 65 living with a disability.
We aim to empower and support our clients to live an extraordinary life as valued members of the community.
You will be part of a team working to make a difference in your local community.
Our Community Mentors support clients to participate in community activities of their choosing.
You will journey alongside clients supporting them to work towards and achieve a good life through the development of networks, increased community participation and engagement in activities that support their goals and aspirations.
In this role: You will provide invaluable support to our clients to engage in activities in their local community, explore who they are and what they want to achieve, and support clients to make meaningful connections with others.
You will support clients to attend activities which may include water-based therapy programs (training provided), ten-pin bowling or attending local sporting events or live music shows, dependent on the individual needs of the people we support.
You will need to have good interpersonal and communication skills, be open-minded, patient, and empathetic.
You will also hold a Level 2-4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate (or equivalent), a full clean driver's license and have experience and confidence at driving mobility vans would be desirable.
Two part-time positions available (10 hours and 15 hours per week each) $23.15 - $28.25 per hour To be successful you will have a passion for supporting people with disabilities, a desire to see people reach their potential, and an ability to see each person as an individual, with unique needs and abilities.
