About Us
The Microvolunteering Collective is an award-winning Charitable Trust that empowers people to make a positive impact through bite-sized volunteer tasks known as 'microvolunteering'. We host community events that bring people together for short, meaningful activities that benefit the community.
Our Mission
We believe that everyone has something valuable to offer, whether it's a skill, strength, or creative talent. Our events provide a platform for people to use these gifts in ways that create positive change, build connections, and spread kindness.
Some of the events we've previously delivered include:

Postcard Picnics: We hand-make cards and fill them with a message of love. These are later delivered to lonely residents in local rest homes, helping to combat isolation among elderly populations.
Love Letters: We decorate letter placards for children in Hospital to later use to brighten their rooms.
SPCA Toy Drive: We repurpose old clothes into toys for animals at the SPCA, providing them with nurturing and stimulation while they wait for their forever homes.

We started in 2019 as a university club, and have since had almost 2,000 people join our events. People have told us they've enjoyed building friendships, reconnecting with their creativity, and doing something kind for others.
The Opportunity: Community Facilitator
We're looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Community Facilitator to help us deliver monthly in-person events in Rotorua.
As a Community Facilitator, you'll be the on-the-day event manager for each event, responsible for creating a welcoming, positive, and engaging atmosphere, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
We'll do all the planning and preparation for the event - so you just need to show up with plenty of energy and enthusiasm to share with attendees.
This volunteer role is perfect for you if you're:

People-Oriented: You enjoy working with others and have a natural ability to make people feel welcome and valued.
Organised: You can effortlessly manage event flow, keeping things on track.
Spirited, Vibrant, Engaging: You're spirited, vibrant, and know how to create an atmosphere that's both fun and inspiring.

Events will run for 1-2 hours once a month, likely on a Saturday afternoon. Each event is super casual and almost runs itself - so your main role is to be there for people, and make the experience memorable.
In return, you can expect to connect with like-minded locals, enhance your leadership and event management skills, and contribute to meaningful community initiatives.
