Mo tenei turanga mahi | About this role

This roles purpose is to maintain our amazing Volunteer base by building the volunteer capacity in the region to support clients and Blind Low Vision NZ (BVLNZ) goals. You will recruit and support volunteers and work alongside Community Committees.

As this role covers the Waikato and Bay of Plenty area, you can be based out of either our Tauranga or Hamilton offices.

To enable you to hit the ground running, we are looking for someone with:

Proven leadership experience, especially in leading change

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Practical experience in managing and coordinating groups of people

Experience in recruiting and training volunteers

Ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships

Excellent planning and organising skills, including time-management skills

You will be responsible for

Appointing suitable volunteers to align with BLVNZ's goals and strategic direction

Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with community committees

Managing the expectations of volunteers and community committees.

Promoting BLVNZ's new volunteer strategy and change management.
