Highly rewarding Public safety and collaborative focused Permanent Full time He angitutanga: The opportunity In this highly rewarding role, you will be making a difference in our local communities, by reducing dog related harm and nuisance and helping us make dogs a positive part of Aucklanders' lives. You will be joining the Proactive Animal Management team, which has a strong focus on community engagement and education whilst also undertaking intelligence led enforcement operations to enhance responsible dog ownership and compliance with the Dog Control Act 1996. With the support of a large team, you will work proactively to deliver targeted compliance initiatives across Tamaki Makaurau with a focus in our high-risk suburbs. This may involve some aggressive dog handling and de-escalation skills, and you will also participate in public speaking and community engagement events. Our office is based in Manukau. This role is primarily Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work required. He korero mou: About you We need a conscientious, community-minded person like you to ensure public safety and compliance. The key to your success is being able to form strong relationships and connections, providing quality advice and support to a wide range of stakeholders, and providing exceptional service to nga whanau me nga hapori (families and communities). This role suits individuals with strong public speaking or public-facing compliance backgrounds, who are passionate about positive outcomes for the community, can demonstrate local community knowledge, cultural awareness, strong public speaking and community engagement skills, customer service and conflict management skills, a calm empathetic approach to resolving situations, and dealing with aggressive dogs. Training will be provided. A current, full clean NZ driver's licence is required.
