The Green Party's parliamentary team is looking for skilled political organisers to join our community Outreach Team, supporting New Zealanders to engage with Green MPs and parliamentary processes.
Get out and about in the community.Establish relationships with a diverse range of people.Organise and run events with Green MPs and communities.Utilise your proven skills in community organising, communications, and online political activism.Based in our Wellington Parliamentary offices on the Parliament precinct, you will collaborate with colleagues in Auckland and Christchurch to deliver high quality events and community engagement opportunities for Green MPs. This includes online events and political engagement.
Your work will be an essential part of building public awareness about the work of Green Party MPs and engaging New Zealanders in the democratic process through petitions and online submission guides.
You are somebody who can build and maintain networks. You will attend hui, meetings, and forums on behalf of the parliamentary party.
Some responsibilities will include:
Developing high quality and engaging event plans and communications plans.Engaging members of the public with the work of Green MPs, in person and online.Identifying issues in the community of potential concern to the Green Party and providing advice on their resolution.Building and maintaining positive working relationships with local community groups and networks.Maintaining networks both inside and outside of Parliament to further the parliamentary party's parliamentary interests.This role is for 40 hours per week, but we are open to appointing people for 32 hours per week if that's preferable to the preferred candidate. Some flexibility in hours may be required, including to support weekend and evening events from time to time. This is an events-based, fixed-term role.
