Community Development (Community Services & Development)Full timeAuckland Basketball Services Limited is a registered charity set up to deliver basketball services to Basketball Auckland, Counties Manukau Basketball, and Waitakere West Auckland Basketball, providing a strong, united voice for our basketball communities. Basketball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country with ongoing growth and opportunity in our region which we are focused on supporting.The roleAuckland Basketball Services is seeking a skilled and dynamic Community Development Officer to lead planning and delivery in the Waitakere West Auckland Basketball region, developing sustainable participation and effectively managing key stakeholder relationships.Key areas of responsibilityThis is an opportunity suited to someone passionate about basketball and the opportunities and impact the sport has on our community. Suitable candidates will work with ABS colleagues, schools, clubs, and other stakeholders to develop sustainable participation in basketball. They will be skilled in leading initiatives and activities, developing the plan and budget, executing the delivery, and managing the funding and reporting requirements to support growth and capability across our Associations, focusing on supporting delivery in our Waitakere West Auckland Basketball region.What are we looking for?Have positive leadership skills and be able to think and work both operationally and strategicallyBe passionate about basketballBe able to coach and deliver in schools and the community settingHave exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationshipsBe highly motivated and have the ability to engage and motivate othersBe able to think in a structured and strategic wayHave good administration, planning, and report writing skillsHave good financial awarenessHave a minimum of a degree in a sports-related field or 3-5 years relevant experience.What is in it for you?Permanent full-time role of 40 hours per week – generally Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work on Saturdays and SundaysPossibility of a part-time role for the right personCompetitive annual salary of up to $62,000 plus vehicle and phone packageGreenlane, Auckland location with lots of free parkingGreat teamFlexibilityIf you are passionate about basketball and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic community-focused environment, this is the role for you.Note: please only apply through the Seek application process.
