Community and Justice Liaison Pacific Nurse - Forensic Youth Team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Porirua CommunityNau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley DistrictLocation: PoriruaService: MHAIDS, Regional Forensic ServiceContract: Permanent, Full TimeSalary: Basesalary is $81,683 to $106,739 NZNO/ PSA based on skills and experienceOur nurses provide liaison and consultation to and between Youth Courts, Prisons, Youth Justice Departments, Child Youth and Family, Mental Health, Police, Government and Community Agencies on mental health and addiction matters and the management of associated problems within the identified agency.The nurse utilises clinical and medical-legal knowledge and skills to provide a quality rapid assessment of Pacific youth identified as having or who may have a mental health and addiction problem.The regional arm of Te Korowai-Whariki includes the Central Regional Forensic Mental Health Service which operates at the interface between Mental Health Services and the Justice System and works within the following settings - prisons, courts, community, and inpatient. The Service offers assessment and rehabilitation services to defendants charged with criminal offences and offenders who have psychiatric illness.The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills with clients, nursing staff, and other professionals, as well as proficiency in communication and documentation.
