As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Manager to join our team in Invercargill.

Role Overview

As the Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our communication strategies. With the support of our Communications Coordinator, you will be responsible for enhancing our brand presence, managing internal and external communications, and fostering positive relationships with our diverse stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic communicator to make a significant impact in a dynamic, forward-thinking and supportive organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with PowerNet's goals and objectives and enhance our brand.
Foster and maintain positive relationships with media, stakeholders, and the community.
Manage and oversee all aspects of internal and external communications, including press releases, media training, newsletters, social media, and website content.
Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of Annual Reports for PowerNet and managed networks.
Organise and coordinate events, public appearances, sponsorships and community engagement initiatives.
Lead the development of content ensuring effective use of graphic design and professional marketing materials.
Collaborate with departments across the business to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
Oversee crisis communication plans and manage the communication function during emergency or business continuity events.

Qualifications And Experience

Bachelor's degree in communications, External/Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent level of demonstrated experience.
At least five years' experience in a communications role.
Strong track record in developing stakeholder relationships and managing social media platform engagement.
Experience leading the development and delivery of formal documents such as Annual Reports, utilising journalism and graphic design skills.
Leadership experience, with an ability to work collaboratively and advise on communications across the entire organisation.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to think strategically and creatively.
Experience in crisis communication and media relations.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
