Mo te Turanga | About the Role Our schemes underwriting team is unique in what they do, using innovative ways to deliver insurance products to our partners. We're looking for a talented individual with extensive knowledge of the insurance market to join us. As an Underwriter in our schemes team, you'll support the underwriting of broker scheme portfolios, ensuring efficient management of end-to-end processes within a Schemes lifecycle. You'll be responsible for managing our underwriting inbox and handling referrals, ensuring we deliver superior service to our partners and colleagues. Additionally, you'll provide technical underwriting expertise to support renewal retention initiatives and play a crucial role in securing new schemes for NZI. You'll also assist the senior underwriter in developing key broker relationships and delivering high-quality outcomes, all while maintaining a solutions-focused approach. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with hybrid working conditions and is open to any IAG office locations in New Zealand, with a preference for Auckland. Ou Pukenga | About You To be successful in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate: Level E commercial underwriting qualifications.Excellent customer service and evidence of strong relationship building skills with broker partners.Ability to work with various levels of people with a range of backgrounds to get the outcome you desire.Confident and comfortable to voice your opinion, including exceptional people experience, communication and influencing skills.Experience working in collaborative, team environments.Good attention to detail.Negotiation skills and good written and verbal skills.Ability to multi-task and manage and prioritise high work volumes.
