About the role
We are seeking for an Commercial Sales Consultant to join our Christchurch Commercial team. Your role will involve leveraging your strong customer service skills and experience working towards KPIs and deadlines. We thrive in an environment that celebrates success, and we are seeking a natural go-getter who enjoys chasing leads, cold calling, and cultivating relationships to expand our business and drive success in the commercial sector.
In this position your main focus will be building strong customer relationships and selling a diverse range of flooring solutions to our commercial partners. You will preferably have a background in the flooring or building/construction industry (or a closely related field). You will already have strong track record in achieving sales and/or already know who the key players are in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow up on customer leads to maximize sales opportunities
Estimate flooring requirements and develop detailed plans for projects
Stay up-to-date with technical product knowledge
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Leverage your understanding of the flooring industry or experience selling trade-based products
Prepare and negotiate contracts effectively
Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with a professional demeanour
Demonstrate a track record of transforming commercial activity into tangible results
Work autonomously while collaborating with a supportive team
Possess knowledge of Health and Safety practices when submitting tenders for construction
View pre and post projects on site to ensure projects start and finish as required
You will have
A strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a similar role. (Experience in flooring industry is strongly desirable but not necessary)
Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding service, manage client expectations, and handle complaints with tact and efficiency.
Experience with sales systems and software, such as RFMS/POS/CRM, or a willingness to learn new systems.
Experience in using project management software (is advantageous).
Excellent verbal and written skills
NZ Drivers licence is a must
