Commercial Projects Specialist - Fixed term Te Kaunihera aa Takiwaa o Waikato (Waikato District Council) serves a large and diverse area, key towns include Raglan, Huntly, Ngaaruawaahia, Tuakau and Te Kauwhata. Smaller settlements include Gordonton, Matangi, Tamahere, Meremere, Port Waikato and Pookeno.

About this role:
We are seeking a Commercial Projects Specialist to assist our Service Delivery team with the delivery of key projects in our community to ensure the commercial aspects are maximised to reduce the cost of project outcomes for our ratepayers. This new fixed term role for two years will provide robust commercial business cases to the planning of projects, ensure projects are set up for success and be accountable for their successful delivery.
What I do?
You will work closely with the Deputy General Manager Service Delivery to ensure the successful delivery of specific projects in the Waste Services, Facilities Services and Strategic Property teams. These physical works projects will deliver new buildings for these activities as well as ensure their projects are funded in ways that reduce financial impact on our ratepayers.
You will add value to these projects by ensuring their feasibility is robust, the projects are well planned, and best practice is applied to their approach to market and ultimate delivery. You will be an expert at bringing a commercial lens to projects that have multiple stakeholders and outcomes and adept at keeping projects on plan and within budget.
What I bring?
You will be an experienced commercial project manager who can lead our stakeholders through the business case process, have significant experience in planning and delivering vertical builds to a high standard, and possess excellent communication skills to engage with multiple stakeholders on the project delivery journey.

Hours of work: 32 to 40 Hours per week
Fixed term: 2 years
