LEAD Alliance is a group of organisations who have come together to transform Auckland's future and lay the groundwork for the new homes and spaces communities need.As the Commercial Operations Manager, you will report to the Commercial Manager and support the design and implementation of all aspects of the Commercial Management Plan. You will be accountable for delivering a significant number of strategic commercial initiatives.This role will also act as the Commercial Manager 2IC and will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commercial Manager in driving the success of the alliance commercial operations.What you will be doing:Able to interpret and understand contractual and commercial obligations of all alliance partners.Working closely with the Commercial Manager to resolve complex contract scenarios should they arise.Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless execution of commercial strategies and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the alliance.Managing and driving a culture of high performing commercial management across the whole alliance, including budget development, cost reporting, change management, subcontract management, and procurement strategies.The successful candidate will have:Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering, and/or Quantity Surveying (QS).Extensive experience in the cost and project management realm within the Design and Construction industry.In-depth knowledge of design and construction methodology and tools, materials, equipment, and associated costs.Alliance or large-scale land development project experience within NZ would be preferable.Experience in managing teams and leading teams to ensure positive project outcomes from a commercial perspective.Experience with large complex programmes of work.Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with many different stakeholders while being an independent commercial representative in a large operational structure.Ability to interrogate, drive, and challenge commercial, construction, and design teams.Able to maintain key relationships.Desire to progress in their career and be part of a succession plan process and developing into Commercial management.What's in it for you:Openings like this don't come along very often.
