About the roles – two contract managers We have two exciting contract management opportunities available:

1.
Permanent, part-time role (new role) 20 hours per week. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of cost-efficient and high-quality services by one of the Authority's major contracted suppliers. 2.
Fixed-term, full-time role (secondment cover) Full-time, fixed term until 30 June 2025. You will oversee the Authority's contract with Transpower in its capacity as system operator.
This is one of the Authority's most significant and high value contracts. Both roles are part of a supportive team undergoing a capability uplift to focus on key activities and major service providers.

As a Commercial Contract Manager, you'll bring your expertise in public sector contract management to lead the administration of high-value, complex contracts.
Working alongside stakeholders and market participants, you will drive performance monitoring, foster strong relationships, and ensure compliance with government rules and best practices.
The role also includes contributing to the governance and operational excellence of key commercial agreements.

Key responsibilities You will work with and support the Head of Commercial by:

Managing your own portfolio of contracts, including those critical to New Zealand's electricity system and market operations. Providing day-to-day contract administration, including maintaining management plans, performance monitoring, and reviewing financial and service delivery outcomes. Supporting onboarding, offboarding, and procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with the Authority's contract management policies. Monitoring and reporting on contract performance, providing updates to the Authority's Board and sub-committees where required. Collaborating with stakeholders, including government agencies, market participants, and service providers, to build and maintain trusted relationships. You will bring: Proven experience in managing complex and high-value contracts, including financial and performance monitoring. Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights. Highly developed organisational skills and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines. Experience or knowledge of the electricity sector (desirable). Why work for us? The starting salary for these roles is $128,155.20 (pro-rata for the part-time role) and we're open to negotiation with the right candidate, based on skills and experience.
