Commercial Business Partner We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Commercial Business Partner.
This opportunity is a newly created position and will be based in either our Wellington or Auckland Customhouse.
This role has been created to keep pace with the changing commercial environment.
The Commercial Business Partner will bring strong knowledge of commercial best practice.
This position manages the relationship between internal stakeholders and external suppliers and provides relevant and timely commercial support and advice.
The Commercial Business Partner will ensure that all commercial contracts and relationships comply with the organisation's commercial framework to achieve organisational expectations, minimising commercial risk and optimising value for money.
To be successful as Commercial Business Partner, the appointee requires the following knowledge, experience, skills, qualifications and/or personal attributes: Excellent relationship management skills, including ability to build and maintain a range of effective business relationships at all levels within an organisation.
Relevant experience partnering with senior leaders within a complex and dynamic environment.
Approachable and open operating style with a 'can do' attitude and desire to achieve workable solutions to commercial matters that effectively balance the needs of all key stakeholders with government procurement requirements.
Demonstrated commitment to service excellence through customer focus, continuous improvement, and innovative approaches to issues.
A tertiary qualification in Commercial Management or a related discipline with a minimum of 5-7 years post-qualifying experience.
Proven experience in complex commercial negotiations in multi-disciplinary environments.
Direct experience at senior levels in a commercial or related role in the Public/Private Sector and/or central government, with significant expertise and experience in the development and implementation of commercial strategies.
Proven ability to maximise benefits and minimise risks in medium to longer-term arrangements with outsourced suppliers; and in negotiating medium to longer-term contracts for goods and services.
