Your drive and passion for preserving and sharing our heritage collections will see you excel in this roleMaintain and improve the management of our collection at our fantastic community facilityA great opportunity for you to grow your knowledge and gain sector experienceWhat the job involvesPreserving and caring for the Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum's heritage collections, ensuring items are catalogued to a high standard and made accessible to our community and wider audiences. Responsibilities include the care and handling of collections and taonga, managing the acquisition of new items, cataloguing collections in a CMS and preparing collections documentation, condition and inventory reporting, managing environmental, hazard and pest management procedures in relation to collections, and providing exhibition support as needed.
For more information about this position, please read the position description.  Who are we looking for?An individual with the passion and commitment to manage our extensive collections. You will have a tertiary qualification or a minimum of three years experience in collections management. You'll be a self-starter who can work within a team environment but is equally happy to work alone and unsupervised. Your written and verbal communication and organisational skills will be second to none. This is a full-time role within a small team so your ability to interact with others is a key performance driver.
