We are seeking a dynamic and organised individual to join our Clubs' and Events team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Massey University clubs and delivering engaging experiences for tauira.Who are we?Te Tira Ahu Pae is the students' association for Massey University, representing tauira (students) studying on our physical campuses or by distance within Aotearoa and around the world. Guided by the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, we strive to uphold manaakitanga, kotahitanga, and the diverse identities of our tauira. We are proud to nurture a culturally rich environment, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where all tauira can thrive.About the role - you will never be bored!This position is based on our Palmerston North Manawatu Campus. Your role will be one of community building with a primary focus on supporting our existing clubs and helping new groups to establish. You will also be charged with delivering Association events from BBQs to Orientation weeks and everything in between. If you have excellent communication and administration skills, the skills to build community, and experience with events, we invite you to join our team.Why this role is important:There is more to attending university than studying and getting that qualification. Extracurricular activities are part of the wider holistic university experience providing connection and belonging. As the Clubs' and Events Coordinator, your mahi will be contributing to the future successes of Massey tauira, strengthening cultural and social connections, and enhancing student engagement in the wider university experience.What you need:Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in community development, club administration, or events.Lived experience as a club committee member, or member is advantageous.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to Te Tiriti-led practices and a willingness to learn and grow in cultural competencies.Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite in the Teams environment.Passion for working with tauira and to be making a difference.Full NZ driver's licence.What you will do:Plan and deliver campus events and initiatives including Orientation weeks and other student-focused activities.Support clubs through the affiliation process to Te Tira Ahu Pae.Administer club grant applications to enable clubs to meet their goals and enhance campus life.Provide ongoing support and resources to clubs, including workshops, event planning assistance, and networking opportunities that foster a sense of community.Keep accurate records related to Association events, club activities, grants, and membership to support our reporting requirements.Why you should join our team:You'll get to work in a vibrant office in the midst of the campus.Additional 5 days annual leave during campus closure (Easter and Christmas).Rewarding work where outcomes change lives.Applications via Seek should include a CV and Cover Letter outlining what experience you bring to the table and why you are the person for this role.
