Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
As a Cloud Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for maintenance and improvements to our Snowflake Cloud Data Pipeline and Platform. You will provide advice, guidance, and insight for the adoption of future cloud pipelines, underpinned by a holistic view of current and emerging trends, to support current and future business needs. This is an exciting and hands-on role within a committed and supportive team.
A key aspect to this role will be overseeing the overall health sustainability of our AWS and Azure environments and providing recommendations for improved process through enhanced ways of working.
The ideal candidate will be able to apply an enterprise-wide perspective in supporting stakeholders to derive insights, make sound recommendations and add value in our decision-making process, thereby helping future proof the data direction of Health, for all New Zealanders.

You are a thought leader, who challenges the status quo and understands how to maximise value across a range of solutions and architectures. As a confident communicator, you are able to foster partnerships across IT and the business to ensure solutions are optimised across our programmes of work to maximise resources and costs.
You are a natural problem solver with expertise in designing and developing highly scalable and reliable data pipelines to process large volumes of data. Your solid coding skills in Python combined with broad knowledge and experience in Cloud technologies and DevOps, will set you up for success in this role. Experience in implementing cloud architecture, and establishing core cloud principles.
Proven ability in the areas of governance and compliance of frameworks and policies.
The ability to identify new and emerging technologies and their relevance and potential value to the organisation.
Expertise across a range of areas that may include information strategy and planning, vendor management and/or business change.
Experience in migration from on-prem to cloud solutions.
